Did you know that...
The pumpkin, which has become a symbol of Halloween was originally a turnip (or rutabaga), that the devil gave for a lantern to a man named Jack. Jack had had trouble with the devil, and after his death, he could not go to heaven or hell, but stayed in the middle space. In America, where the pumpkin was more common than the turnip, therefore used the pumpkin instead of the turnip.
